Change

We can have no progress without change, whether it be basketball or anything else.

Failure is never fatal. But failure to change can and might be.

When I was 15 years old and in the tenth grade, I heard of Martin Luther King, Jr. Three years later, when I was 18, I met Dr. King and we became friends. Two years after that I became very involved in the civil rights movement. I was in college at that time. As I got more and more involved, I saw politics as a means of bringing about change.

I'm not going to change the way I look or the way I feel to conform to anything. I've always been a freak. So I've been a freak all my life and I have to live with that, you know. I'm one of those people.

Power does not change you, it unmasks you.

As a leader, the first person I need to lead is me. The first person that I should try to change is me.

Most people don't like change. They revolt against it unless they can clearly see the advantage it brings. For that reason, when good leaders prepare to take action or make changes, they take people through a process to get them ready for it.

All things are only transitory.

The effects of climate change are real and must be acted on.
