Work

I don't want to get lost in everything. I just want to keep the same work ethic.

I do not write for this generation. I am writing for other ages. If this could read me, they would burn my books, the work of my whole life. On the other hand, the generation which interprets these writings will be an educated generation; they will understand me and say: 'Not all were asleep in the nighttime of our grandparents.'

I enjoy the work, I enjoy every minute of my professional life.

If there's any message to my work, it is ultimately that it's OK to be different, that it's good to be different, that we should question ourselves before we pass judgment on someone who looks different, behaves different, talks different, is a different color.

Nothing is so discouraging to an actor than to have to work for long hours upon hours in brightly lighted interior sets.

We all live in the same house, we all must be part of the effort to hold down our little house. When you see something that is not right, not fair, not just... do something about it. Say something. Have the courage. Have the backbone. Get in the way. Walk with the wind. It's all going to work out.

The civil rights movement was based on faith. Many of us who were participants in this movement saw our involvement as an extension of our faith. We saw ourselves doing the work of the Almighty. Segregation and racial discrimination were not in keeping with our faith, so we had to do something.

My mind doesn't work, my memories don't work like a computer file where I can just retrieve them and, boy, there it is. My mind is selective in terms of memories. When I try to think back to college or high school, there are gaps. I try to fill them in. But I can't tell you it's always the truth.

We believe that if men have the talent to invent new machines that put men out of work, they have the talent to put those men back to work.

The pay is good and I can walk to work.

Teamwork makes the dream work, but a vision becomes a nightmare when the leader has a big dream and a bad team.

How do you go from where you are to where you wanna be? And I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life. You have to have a dream, a goal. And you have to be willing to work for it.

Labor gives birth to ideas.

Work harder on yourself than you do on your job.

If you go to work on your goals, your goals will go to work on you. If you go to work on your plan, your plan will go to work on you. Whatever good things we build end up building us.

In my line of work, the enemy gets a vote.

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

I hate politics, but I love people and I am committed to truly doing the work to serve the people and hopefully inspiring the next generation.

The less seriously you take yourself, the better work you're going to do.

There is never time in the future in which we will work out our salvation. The challenge is in the moment; the time is always now.
