It's all about defending the core of India: democracy, secularism and our pluralistic society, not to mention the principle of federalism... from what I would frankly call fascist forces.

Those who want to impose one language, one religion and one culture are trying to destroy the unity of India.

It is wrong to take away all the rights granted by the Constitution after the hard-fought Independence. It is a betrayal of the fighters of freedom struggle.

The BJP leadership has an imagination that only spewing hatred on Muslims will satisfy Hindus. It is not true.

Elections should be judged based on the trend on the ground and not through imagination.

History tells us fascists, who construed the silence of people as fear, ultimately fell. People who vote for democracy is its armour and strength.

The ideology of BJP is an anathema to social justice, equality, democracy, fraternity, secularism and federalism, the values cherished and espoused by the Dravidian movement we belong to.

My plea is that if we want to preserve India's diversity, federalism, democracy, secularism, equality, fraternity, state rights, education rights, we must all leave aside our individual political mindsets and unite.
