I can't really sleep that well because I have insomnia. It's just so hard to chill.

I stood my ground and I said I'm not going to take every social opportunity. I'm not going to take every brand deal. I'm not going to take every suggestion, because at the end of the day, it's me doing the manual labor that everyone else thinks I should just be doing.

I think growing up in a conservative state made me have a different perspective on queerness and a great appreciation for safe spaces and more accepting places.

I'll work at the donut shop for six months again, I don't really have any shame about that. I liked working at the donut shop.

There's a special place in my heart for queer kids in the Midwest because I know how they're feeling and I know how isolating it can feel.

I think it's important for me to question authority and question world leaders and question myself, question my algorithm, question if some person that tweeted something about someone else is even true.

When I think of myself at 8 or 9 years old, I loved over-the-top looks with big hair and anything tacky. I also loved drag makeup, even though I didn't know it was drag makeup back then... I like to live out the part of me that was really never allowed to be herself.

I can put out music whenever I want. I don't have to wait for a casting director to be like, 'It would be great if we cast you, and then we'll decide your schedule for the next three months.'

I grew up thinking being gay was bad and a sin. I went to the gay club once and it was so impactful, like magic. It was the opposite of everything I was taught.

My career is on Pinterest. If you were to hack in my Pinterest account, every spoiler is in there ever. You could just see everything.

I was so desperate to feel understood. I pushed down the gay part of myself so deep because I was like, that can't possibly be me.

I get so freaked out by film people.

Every time I walk through my front door, it just comes out of me... I can't even help it, I just start sobbing and either being so angry at myself for choosing this path, or grieving how the curiosity and pure wonder I had about the world is somewhat taken away from me.

I was mostly raised on Christian rock and country music.

That is why we slave away in the studio for years and years and years, to bring something that an audience can bring to life, actually.

I kind of came out to myself in waves, and it took many years to get there and have like an unwinding of all of the homophobic thoughts.
