I think when people focus on God and not on the differences that they perceive between their version or their understanding of God, and another denominational or non-denominational or even faith understanding of God. When you when you get those out of the way, when you can just focus on God, you realize we're all here trying to do the same thing.

I think committing to excellence in life affects every area of life, not just your family relationships but work, career, the whole thing.

When we all depart from this Earth and meet our Maker, hopefully, we're going to be responsible for the lives that we lead while we were here on Earth. How we treated each other and the respect we gave each other and the people around us.

What matters is that people know that God is love and mercy and compassion. And there's always more room for people to know and discover who He is and how He can radically and profoundly change their lives if they give Him a chance to do so.

My title isn't important. The need to have a title isn't important, none of it matters.

You have no idea how over the moon my Egyptian father is that his son who has a BFA now has a doctorate. It doesn't matter that it is honorary. He just hears the word 'doctorate' and we are good. I might as well be wearing a stethoscope at this point.

I've realized that just because I play Jesus on a TV show, doesn't mean I can or should stop being Christ to everyone I meet when the cameras turn off. We all have the opportunity to represent him in our own lives, through our actions and choices.

You don't need to play Jesus for the world in order to be Jesus to the world.

When you serve God first, not yourself first, then that is when your true success begins.

For me, I've just gone much deeper into my prayer life; I've gone deeper into my own faith.

The more time you spend with Jesus and His words, and His ministry, and the people that were impacted by His ministry, the more unavoidably shaken your soul is by His words, by His life, by His example.

So, I was working on different side jobs. None of them would really pay the bills. So, I went from six or seven different side jobs all at once that I was bouncing literally, to having no work in any of them.

I was struggling for many years in Los Angeles.

You must endeavor to preach the Gospel by the life you live, by your actions and the choices you make, by the political positions you take, and advocacy for the causes you champion.

The Church would cease to exist on Earth, especially sacramentally, if vocations are not prayed for and answered by God and the Holy Spirit.

Just because you're not an actor playing Jesus or you're not a priest or a nun doesn't mean you're not meant to represent Him at all times wherever you go.

For two seasons HBO's 'Ballers' was one of my many side-gigs. I hustled to pay my bills.

Jesus was a real person. He continues to be a real person.

People have been trying to depict our Lord and Savior because that gives us an opportunity to reference what it is and who it is that we're putting our belief system into.

One of the things, I think, as humans, that we need, especially if we have a relationship with our Creator, or we desire a relationship with our Creator, it's only human for us to want to put a face to who that is.
