Betrayal is serious business.

Being on the road is cool.

Whether we like it or not, toxicity reigns in working environments. It just exists.

What 'Industry' did was make me more sympathetic towards them. If I passed some bros on the street, I'd be like, 'ugh.' And now I'm more like, 'Oh, they're hurting.'

I still get depressed sometimes. And I still have a complicated relationship with food. It's also really hard not to in this industry, considering so much of our value as people, as actors or people in the public eye, is based on our outward image. So, you know, this is a lifelong battle.

Seeing a show with the intent to be in it, you watch it with a more critical eye.

I'm waiting for the role or project where I get to exhaust all of my training.

I'm mixed and I grew up in a predominantly white community. I'm queer, and I'm an actor. There's a lot of boxes I check, and no box that I really fit in.

Being an actor has taken me to places I never imagined I would go - both in the imaginary world and in the physical world, which is a gift.

I believe that I've earned my place here in the world and in my life, and I've done my homework. I've prepared myself well enough to say, 'Oh no, I'm being asked to do these things because on paper I've got what it takes.'

Even on the days when I'm feeling insecure, I still do believe that I belong where I am.

I want to normalise taboo conversations to educate myself and others.

Every single one of us is unique and special in some way. So what's unique to me is me!

Welsh is maybe one of the most difficult accents to learn.

I understand that what I do for a living is to play pretend and have a good time - so if I'm going to do that, I want to earn my keep.

Going to college was really affirming for me, meeting other people like me, other mixed people who had mixed life experience. And that's when I really understood that, no matter what my upbringing was, I'm black and people are going to treat me like I'm black. So that is what that is.

Mainstream culture is finally catching on to the fact that the world is made up of individuals.

Covid-19 has lit an even hotter fire in me to become a more active participant in advocating for homeless people and homelessness relief. Being in a safe place with plenty of food and having the means to shape myself as an artist in this new world is a privilege. I want to make it a right for all people.

I understand the disadvantages that the world has decided that I have, as a woman and as a minority.
